2008 Artist of the Year
Following a rewarding career as a research home economist and educator, raising her children, and the death of her husband, Colleen Wood Shaw again picked up the brushes after a hiatus of 30 years. Her watercolor paintings reflect her love of nature and flora and are displayed in galleries throughout Wisconsin and Iowa. Originally from Northwest Iowa, Colleen relocated to La Crosse WI in 1999 and is a member of the East Bank Artist group in La Crosse.

Signe Schroeder and Roberta Gelatt decided to give from the heart 10 years ago when they created the Women's Fund of the La Crosse Community Foundation. The Women's Fund has been giving from the heart ever since.
